Bring back those Sweet Maui Memories. These delicious beef-ribs will have your taste buds dancing the hula. Our Azeka’s Sweet Meat is very well known for being broke da mouth good.
Prep: 12 hours
Cook: 15-20 minutes
- 2-5 lbs – Beef Short Ribs cut Kalbi/Flanken style
- 1-2 Jar(s) – Azeka’s Hawaiian Sauce
Move the short ribs to a large sealable freezer bag and generously coat ribs with Azeka’s Hawaiian Sauce. Massage the freezer bag to make sure ribs are evenly coated. Squeeze air out of the bag, seal, and move to the refrigerator. Allow ribs to marinate 6-24 hours for best results. After the ribs have marinated, time to cook! Reserve a half jar of Azeka’s Hawaiian Sauce for basting.
Pre-heat grill to medium-hot. Drain excess sauce off the ribs and place individual ribs on the grill. Cook over medium-hot heat until ribs are fully cooked, turning occasionally. Use fresh Azeka’s Hawaiian Sauce to baste with while cooking. Ribs should cook for about 4-5 minutes each side. Allow a few minutes to rest and enjoy!
Tips: When shopping for the beef short ribs, ask for “flanken cut” or cross-cut on a beef short ribs. The ribs are usually cut 1/2-inch thick.
